I'm going to be picking up a King Maker campaign as the DM in a couple months.
it worked for me. I'm reminded of the original 3.0 DMG, back before WotC decided to toss out the original plan in favor of selling more splat books. This functions as the rogue advanced talent of the same name. So, I've just been crowned, I've had my Relations over 60 for a while now and I have level 3 for that position as well. She may choose to detect as any specific alignment, or to detect as no alignment at all.
Sneak Attack (Ex): This ability is exactly like the rogue ability of the same name. The fluff seems good, but I would like just enough crunch to make it both fun and not suck. The feat requirements (Deceitful and Iron Will) are steep enough. I could use advice on feats, how to spend my gold, and how to set up my ability scores.
Oct 14, 2018 @ 12:46pm I can't seem to get the Master Spy/Spymaster? Pathfinder: Kingmaker > General Discussions > Topic Details.
When is it OK for a GM to declare an action impossible? arcane trickster: Magic trick (mage hand) sneak attack full bab? :). Community 73 at rank 3, and Already do have a Grand Diplomat. Ranked up relations to 3, no spy yet.
Master Spy, Female - Pathfinder.
I want to make sure things are going to go as currently planned before I jump in. I really wanted to make a master spy awhile back. Shift Alignment (Su): Starting at 6th level, a master spy's control over her aura improves. I wanted a more Deadwood feel to the game as we struggled to get our frontier nation on its feet. If a master spy gets a sneak attack bonus from another source, the bonuses on damage stack. You could probably let him in with all the prereqs waived and it would still be a pure fluff over mechanics choice. The game is fast, intuitive and exciting to play and where the player's own skill makes a difference. I don't see any major issues, but I appreciate hearing someone else's advice. Quick Change (Ex): Starting at 4th level, a master spy can assume a disguise in only 2d4 rounds by taking a –10 penalty on her Disguise check. If you think that it would be acceptable to allow versatile performance to take the place of those two skill rank requirements, is it also then reasonable to change the feat requirement to alertness (bonus to perception and sense motives (the other required skills)) in place of deceitful (bonus to bluff and disguise, which will be replaced and hence not ever used)?
Master spies may serve countries or private interests, or sell their services to the highest bidder without a thought to long-term loyalty. 2. The following are class features of the master spy prestige class.
How would you make a campaign where the players are bandits? Yeah, takes a while to get unless you get super lucky with Success/Triumph on events.
552 users here now. Since I have a pretty damn good GM he obliged.
A master spy can change her alignment aura from a masked alignment (as per her 2nd-level class feature, where effects still function based on her actual alignment) to a shifted alignment (as per this ability, where effects function based on her assumed alignment) as a standard action.
I can't seem to get the Master Spy/Spymaster? Versatility and adaptability are the watchwords for espionage, and successful master spies let others complete their deception for them, subtly drawing targets into their machinations. Anyways yeah Master spy and to some extend Lion Blade wont be all that awesome in your standard monster encounter PF game. This ability does not protect against spells or effects that cause harm based on alignment.
Skills: Bluff 7 ranks, Disguise 7 ranks, Perception 5 ranks, Sense Motive 5 ranks. There is a lot of combat in Kingmaker. Back to Main Page → Pathfinder Open Game Content → PFSRD With the above in mind, I feel it is reasonable to allow the character to use versatile performance in place of the two skill requirements. As far as I can tell, by RAW, Versatile Performance(Act (Bluff,Disguise)) is not sufficient to qualify the character for the PrC. I think your player would probably be happier staying in bard. A master spy is an expert at both magical and nonmagical means of evading detection, and quick-witted when it comes to improvisation. Master Spy is not one of them. Note that a master spy among adventurers may not intend to betray them; armed heroes provide excellent cover for a master spy's true mission, whether or not they know the spy's intent. This penalty drops to –5 at 8th level. If the spell provides a telepathic link, it functions normally, but the spy is under no obligation to follow the caster's commands.
My point of view is as follows:
I was a player in said Kingmaker campaign until it went on hiatus. You need 60+ in community and relations. Master spy isnt that powerful.
We Accept: PLEASE NOTE: ALL MINIATURES ARE SUPPLIED …
This ability does not give the master spy the glibness spell's bonus on Bluff checks. For example, a master spy masquerading as a noblewoman can make untrained Knowledge (history) checks about the kingdom and Knowledge (nobility) checks about its noble and royal families as if she were trained, but she cannot make untrained Knowledge (nature) skill checks to identify herbs.
Thanks for the advice Ararlost and Pan. If the spy has the slippery mind ability from another class, these abilities stack, but she can still only use slippery mind once per round. However.... A new character is joining the party and wants to play a bard that goes into Master Spy. When the master spy succeeds at a saving throw against a magical effect that provides ongoing control (such as charm person, dominate person, or a vampire's dominate ability), she can allow the spell to take partial effect. maybe thats your problem.
Then I saw the Taldan Lion Blade and oh man do I want to make one of those! What school of magic would an archivist character specialize in. My build so far is Human or Half-Elf Rogue (Scout and maybe Thug) 5/Assassin 2/Master Spy 3, planning to take 3 more Assassin and the rest of Master Spy in no particular order, taking Ability Focus (Death Attack) to get a DC over 30 by level 20.
This ability is not proof against the actions of deities or similarly powerful beings. Come 8th level you get death attack but Im not seeing any issue here your house rules would make.
This confuses divination effects and spells, even ones as powerful as discern location, such that they register the spy as being the creature she has touched. Death Attack (Ex): At 8th level, a master spy learns the art of killing or paralyzing a foe with a careful strike. The people of the stolen lands didnt want to be ruled by no elf nor half-orc. Español - Latinoamérica (Spanish - Latin America). Shifting her alignment aura is a standard action, and lasts until she changes it again or ends the effect. However, as a game balance issue, do you see any problems in me, as the DM, allowing 7 ranks in Perform (Act) to satisfy those two requirement?
Looking the class over more its 3/4 BAB with some sneak attack but not even as good as rogue levels would be.
Just like pretty much every other AP. © Valve Corporation. But I was chapter 4. you need a grand diplomat first.
To qualify to become a master spy, a character must fulfill all the following criteria. Fool Casting (Su): A master spy of 8th level or higher can trick an opponent into believing that she has been charmed or dominated. - Fri. 8AM to 5PM PST "We ship Worldwide!"
She can suppress or resume this protection as a standard action. Try lvl 4 then and if it works comment here. As far as I can tell, by RAW, Versatile Performance(Act (Bluff,Disguise)) is not sufficient to qualify the character for the PrC. The master spy can dismiss a fooled spell as a standard action. That didn't work for me, either. The spy can suppress or resume this protection as a standard action. I also see no problem with the bonus question as far as feat swapping as long as you are good with it. A master spy is an expert at both magical and nonmagical means of evading detection, and quick-witted when it comes to improvisation.
Slippery Mind (Su): At 5th level, a master spy can slip away from mental control. The assumption of an identity lasts until the master spy ends it (a standard action) or she uses the ability on another creature. Now Lupin the baron has castle named after him, ha! I was 4th level before I rolled Disable Device. As a rogue/wizard, I found most of my rougness was a waste. She ended up being drawn into the Dimension … Rogues can easily pass themselves off as members of most nonmagical professions (though playing an armored warrior impedes their natural abilities), while bluffing bards can impersonate a wide range of other spellcasters well enough to fool a casual observer.
I wish i could say more but there isnt too much to it really. I hope we can pound something out between to the two of us. The PrC seem a little underpowered to me, especially since it does not improve the character's bardic music or spellcasting. I'm worried about switching hats from player where I like to push rules to DM where I have to try to keep them in check. Spy Master! I know that. The master spy's class skills are Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Disable Device (Dex), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Perception (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Stealth (Dex), and Use Magic Device (Cha).
But I …
I haven't started reading them yet. Alignment: The practice of espionage demands discipline and a certain amount of moral and ethical flexibility; more master spies are neutral than lawful or chaotic. Master of Disguise (Ex): A master spy can create a disguise in half the time normally required. For example, a neutral good master spy can shift her aura to lawful evil so she can pass through a doorway that shocks creatures that aren't lawful evil; if hit by holy smite with this shifted aura, she takes damage as if she were evil.
